Mihawk yay!

title; Together again but not
words: 300
pairing: Mihawk/Sanji, Sanji/Zoro
rating: PG13
topic: anniversary

After all their time traveling together Zoro never gave Sanji more than a passing expression of interest. A look that said ‘maybe one day’ before returning to train or focus on finding the man he had been focused on well before meeting the blond.

Sanji would flirt with girls and smoke and try to forget about the maybe.

Zoro is the one he catches a ride with to head off in the remote direction of All Blue island when the time comes and the swordsman doesn’t stick around long enough for the cook to even fix him something from the lush bounty of the place.

It’s too bad because the remote, hard to find island slung in the center of All Blue is exactly where the strongest swordsman in the world had decided to hide out to train and he is all too welcoming to someone willing to cook delights for him in exchange for a little company.

It is on their anniversary of sorts when Zoro apparently got a lead strong enough to find the island again and came looking. He accepts a meal from Sanji this time and he seems surprised that the blond is living with the object he was hunting all this time.

He gets an idiotic look of determination on his face…like once he beats Mihawk that ‘maybe one day’ will become ‘today’. Sanji wonders if that is what intrigues Zoro the most about himself. That if he wins Sanji would be his prize.

This only confirms further the idiocy of the marimo and drives the point home of how his feelings for the man had been futile.

Mihawk is laughing at the mans expression because even if he’s defeated, in terms of the cook he can already tell he won.

Zoro’s still so oblivious.
