“Sir. Sir! You really shouldn’t be down here,” the young guard said as Garp punched the barrier to the holding areas, the metal door imprinting into the opposite wall.
“Blah, blah. You do your job and let me do mine,” Garp said as he shifted a cigar in between his teeth stomping down the cold stone-reinforced hallway, the prisoners inching away from where they had strung themselves through the bars of their cell doors.
Letting a grin stretch across his face, Garp stopped in front of the cell at the end of the row; the high marine watched as the man sitting contently on the floor looked up at him and raise a cuffed and chained hand in salute.
“Morning,” Gol D. Roger said as he watched the marine leisurely sit down in front of him as Garp scoffed at the casual welcome.
“Hmph. Hopefully you’re the only pirate that I sit down and listen to before an execution. I’m missing out on a very important official meeting,” Garp said, sounding not a bit upset that he was missing anything. Roger let out a chuckle as he leaned back against the stone bench in the cell.
“Heh, this is just the beginning,” Roger replied as Garp leaned forward a short grin challenging him. “Since pirates are going to be annoying you left and right when I’m gone.”
“You think these things are going to start with you?” Garp asked as he scratched his chin not too concerned with was the pirate was saying.
“Does the title Pirate King ring a bell?” Roger retorted laughing at the scowl that came over Garp’s face at the indication of a rumoured era that had potential because of this man.
