Title: That's all?
Rating: PG
Media: fic
Word Count: 299
Pairing: Zoro / Sanji
Prompt: Smooth
Some topics were forbidden to talk about, not by laws, but simply taboo to mention. In the Marine, you didn't talk about your uncle the pirate. When you were amongst pirates, you never insulted their legends. On-board the Sunny, you didn't talk about love.
Nakama was one thing, Sanji's confessions about eternal love was another, but in general; love was taboo. They all loved each other as much as a human being could, but only as friends. If someone would try and take another step, the balance that held up the Strawhats would be lost.
Or that's what Sanji spends hours awake during long nights thinking about. It didn't go one day without him complimenting the ladies, loving them to shreds, but they were still just his friends; dear friends; nakama. However, during those nights, he would glance over to the hammock were the swordsman slept. He can hear the other man's heavy breathing, and he can barely make out the green hair in the darkness. But that's all.
The next morning when he gets up, he steals another look. He knows that the two of them never will be more than friends, not while the two of them are a part of this crew and leaving Luffy wouldn't happen. Friends forever perhaps, but Sanji sighs. Zoro who notices his stare and starts walking towards him. Sanji is looking away, knowing something, hoping another.
“Ey, cook, go out with me.”, Zoro says.
While Sanji is having problem sorting out if it's a question or a demand and what the hell Zoro really means, his lips is suddenly attached to Zoro's.
Maybe they needed change, to stop tiptop around the subject. Still, Sanji wished Zoro could have been a bit smoother while confessing. He had love-bites that lasted weeks.
