The cheers from the massive crowd could still be heard in the distance as the sounds of footsteps falling rapidly on the ground echoed through the streets.
“Let’s stop here for a moment,” was voiced. Panting slightly, the slower figure glared at the teen in front. “Oi, are you trying to get us lost?!” The teen questioned.
“Sorry, I didn’t think you wanted to party with that crowd back there.”
“Well it’s not like we were ever wanted there anyways.”
“Come with me Buggy!” Shanks said after a moment of thought as he looked back at Buggy who was staring at him with an aggravated look.
“Like I’m gonna be your subordinate, idiot!” Buggy said clenching his fists as anger took over at the thought of following anyone other than his Captain. Only, there was no captain now which meant that he couldn’t follow anyone, but himself. Glaring, Buggy looked up at Shanks’ quickly growing frustration.
“Not subordinates; partners,” Shanks replied watching the anger shift over the blue haired teen’s face as he tried to explain it to Buggy.
“Don’t you get it you idiot? We’re enemies now! I’m not going to follow you,” Buggy yelled out, his voice cracking as he glared at Shanks one last time before turning his back and running a different direction.
“Buggy, you fool. Enemies don’t cry when they leave their friends,” Shanks said through gritted teeth as he watched the red-nosed teen run away with his head low and shaking side to side as Shanks knew he did when he cried.
“You didn’t say goodbye, asshole!” Shanks yelled out before turning and running in the opposite direction towards the south side docks of the rum runners. He knew only enemies said goodbye; it was enough to hold onto in the Grand Line.
