Buggy crouched on a rooftop about a block away from the town square, in full view of the execution platform and the red-haired man chained on top. He laughed loudly at the hilarity of it all, his voice carrying on the wind. There should be fireworks, he thought, and balloons, and a flashy parade, hell, even just some popcorn would be nice!

He had always known that Shanks, that idiot, would get caught eventually, and today was that day. It was his good fortune that he happened to be in town for the execution. His laughter escalated in pitch and jollity.

Today died his biggest rival. The man he blamed for every misfortune that had crossed him since eating his Devil Fruit. The man who showed him up at every opportunity. The man he hated with all his soul.

The man he had been apprenticed with. Drunk ale with. Shared a blanket with on particularly cold watch nights.

The man who had been almost like his brother.

Buggy’s laughter dimmed and then died completely, and somehow he found himself staring right into Shanks’ eyes.

The flashy bastard actually had the nerve to smile and nod at him!

Buggy looked at his feet. He kicked his toe hard against the roof. He grumbled and muttered excuses.

Then, with a final curse, he starting sprinting with flash across the rooftops toward the platform, screaming, “Bara Bara Festival!”

Shanks was damn lucky Buggy was willing to save him.

Since I love Sanji I am casting him as Shanks....and instead of "Money" Buggy-Zoro will be obsessed with "Fame/Being the best swordsman".

As much as I would like to cast Sanji as Shanks right along with you, Sanji would make a better Buggy. I mean, Buggy gets mad whenever someone points out his red nose, and Sanji gets mad whenever someone points out his curly eyebrow. And they both tend to fly off the handle easily in general. And they're both searching for a specific something that may not exist. While Shanks and Zoro are both more laid back in their own way, LOVE sake, and are known for their hair colors.

The thing is, I know that Buggy is an irritating shit, but I still like him for some unknown, yet probably insane reason.

I really do like the relationship between Buggy and Shanks (at least, what's been shown in canon), and since Buggy himself doesn't seem to be a popular character, nobody really writes any fic about him, which is kind of sad, because it could be interesting (or at the least, very funny) to watch him as he travels around, either in his younger days on the Oro Jackson, or with his crew on the Big Top. Or even with Galdino post-Marineford.

And I seriously need to find or make a Buggy icon.

I actually love him because he's made of FAIL! He attracts me in the same way Team Rocket did when I was younger, or the same way Ed, Edd, and Eddy do. He's so bad at being bad, it's hilarious! You just have to laugh about it.

And... he's kind of sexy when he takes off that big coat and is just in his shirt... daaaang...

Alas! I'm no good at icon-making whatsoever, so I always have to wander through icon comms and see what I can find.

Buggy is interesting because if there was one person I wasn't expecting to see in the Impel Down arc? It was him. I would've figured he would've continued to float around in his failboat, but oops, no, he got caught. Still, it's funny as hell to watch him running around with Luffy. As much as he "hates" Luffy for... well, whatever, it's still hilarious to watch him working with Luffy in order to break out of the prison. He's so very self-centered, but at the same time, still willing to work with Luffy. It boggles the mind, sometimes.

Also? If he keeps the Crew of Legends, oh my go-o-o-o-od, it will be hilarious to watch him getting chased by the Marines. <3

On the one hand, Oda seems to have an obsession with making every guy look freaking built, including guys like Usopp, but at the same time, um, why hello thar Buggy, you should leave the coat off more often.

Am I the only one who thinks Buggy looks better with the long single ponytail instead of the pigtail-tassels he uses? I want him back to prison-hair, and that's a very weird sentence for me to say.

I think that's a big reason why I like the younger version of Buggy. The make-up that Buggy wears on a regular basis never really looks good on him, and it's just kind of, "Yes, you're a clown, but if you had cool make-up, you would totally have more fans."
