A/N: Sorry if this is a bit rushed I've had a major case of writer's block lately so I wanted to get this out before I got stuck.
“Add three drops of wolfs bane and stir three times counter clockwise with a divinity rod, then replace the potion onto a bed of ashes made from a phoenix feather for its final hour of brewing.”
Trafalgar Law felt the sweat running down his face stinging his eyes as he fought for his hands not to shake. The three hours spent crouched over his workbench were taking their toll. The art of alchemy was a delicate precise art. It had taken him weeks to gather all the necessary ingredients, months to wait for the lunar cycle so he could harvest the wolfs bane, and now he was nervous now that he’d finally neared the end. He couldn’t afford to start over. Who knew how many people had already died these past months.
Carefully stepping back from his workbench he wiped his face on the sleeve of his robe, he cast one last look at the small vial that held all the hope this small village was entitled to anymore. He retreated from the room, to let the process complete without disturbances.
The plague had stuck the small northern fishing village without warning. It was thought that it came in on one of the trade ships from the south. Carried by rats perhaps, but no one cared much about how it got here. The only wanted to get rid of it. The other villages refused them any help for fear the plague would spread. So as people were dying by the hundreds and death hung over the village they turned to their last hope, the local alchemist and witch doctor. They turned to him.
No one expected him to actually help. After all he was the “Dark Doctor”, but they weren’t the only ones who had someone to save.
