With all of the shenanigans that they get into, it's no surprise when a pirate gets burnt or breaks a limb. The Redhair Pirates were no exception, they had even come to think of broken bones to be trivial as long as it didn't hinder movement or require a crutch. All in all, an injury here or there was nothing.
Until Shanks broke his leg. His left leg. Three months after getting his left arm bitten off.
"NOOOO!" Shanks tried to hobble away from the ship doctor but ended up collapsing on the floor due to leg pains.
The first mate sighed before scooping up his sobbing captain and dumping him into the wheelchair. "NO! BEN! WHY DO YOU FORSAKE ME!"
After a few slaps from both Ben and the doctor, Shanks had calmed down enough to stop screaming and start moaning, "How can I face the crew like this, Ben? They'll see what a failure their captain is! Can't even use crutches, I have to use a wheelchair."
"It's only because you can't use crutches."
"Yeah, yeah, 'an arm for the future'. I swear, Luffy had better become pirate king or I swear I'll...."
The Doctors simply sighed and allowed Ben to take the captain out to greet his crew. Shanks braced himself for the crews inevitable taunts and disappointed looks.
"Captain! Are you okay?"
"I'm so sorry!"
"I can't believe we let this happen!"
"Does it hurt!"
While the crew continued blubbering to their injured captain, only Ben noticed the tears in Shank's eyes as he realized that they cared more about him than about the wheelchair. He pulled them all close, "How could any captain be in pain with such great nakama!"
