Because of course I have to go into left field with something that should be a straightforward topic.
Title: Kiss of a Sort
Rating: PG
Media: Fic
Pairing/Characters: Zoro (ZoroxSwords OTP (Just kidding… mostly)
Word Count: 289
Topic: First Kiss
His first kiss… he doesn’t really remember. He thinks it might have been some hostage or another, inadvertently saved while bounty hunting. He’s not sure if he regrets it not being Kuina, because if she would have lived, she probably would have been. But that’s not something either were interested in at that age, and more often than not, still not something he was interested in.
Luffy had kissed him once or twice – with affection, but no real meaning behind it. He loved them all, deeply, unrestrainedly- but it wasn’t quite the same thing.
The first kiss that mattered, he thinks, was steel and flesh and purpose – and really, the only one to leave a lasting mark on him had been Mihawk. Fingers rose absently to touch that mark, that promise of another meeting; his goal laying ahead of him, waiting for him: aware of him.
And then he smiled, because, by these rules, his first kiss was Kuina. Kuina and Wado Ichimonji under that moon, his throat bared to that slightest kiss, heart bared to the determinate behind it. It was not romantic. It didn’t need to be. And while it didn’t leave a mark in the traditional way, it had shaped him and made him who he was now; continues to mold him to this day.
He carried the memory at his hip, his most precious possession.
“A girl I used to know…”, he finally answers, with something of a reflective smile.
“Oh thank god, I was afraid you were going to wax poetic about your swords or something.”
Sanji couldn’t understand why that made the swordsman laugh so hard, but it took him a long time to stop. By then, the dinner’s conversation had moved on.
