"Let me go."

"Wrong three words."

"Untie me now, or I'll kill you, stupid dartbrow!"

"That was nine. Can't count, marimo?"

Sanji watched in satisfaction as Zoro convulsed once more against his bonds, then fell back against the deck, panting. "You know that if you hadn't used the cords from my katana, you'd be mincemeat by now, idiot cook."

"Well, of course. I'm no idiot," Sanji smiled. There was a good reason he'd bypassed the more readily-available rigging rope and risked Zoro's wrath by messing with his swords. He took a leisurely draw on his cigarette. "You know, this really is peaceful," he said, tilting his head back and exhaling the smoke into the clear blue sky above. "We should peace-tie you more often."

"And what if someone comes out here and sees us?" Zoro demanded.

"Fine by me, I'm not the one sprawled half-naked across the stern," Sanji shrugged. "Besides, you know the magic words, Zoro. All you have to do is to say them. Just three little words."

"You're an asshole."

"Wrong. And an insult, too. That calls for punishment, don't you think?" Sanji said lightly, cinching the knots tighter.

"Fuck," Zoro groaned. He was nearing his limits, Sanji knew - he'd been a glad hand with knots ever since his stint on the Orbit, and he hadn't felt particularly inclined to be merciful.

"I hate you," Zoro gasped.

"Wrong again," Sanji crooned, tugging the bonds tighter still. After all, he reasoned, if Zoro's pride wouldn't allow him to take an easy surrender, he'd just have to make it a hard one.

It was working. Zoro was visibly struggling now, between pain and his most precious possessions, between pride and honesty.

Finally, pride gave out.

"Fine. It was good," Zoro admitted. "You were good. Satisfied, now?"

Sanji considered. "Close enough, marimo," he allowed, grinning, and leaned forward to reward the swordsman with his release.

I knew it was Syb's, but now I'm wondering about those fics. Including this one I think I've only ever seen three fics linking it as inspiration [though honestly I can't remember if you wrote them all or not xD].

Hmm... might be time to go archive diving. ;3

Well, maybe I used the wrong word...I wrote a 4-chaptered fic based on the picture (starts here (http://30-onepiece.livejournal.com/124256.html), is probably more accurate (it was for 30 Pieces, so I think of them as separate fics even though they follow on from each other). If you have read other fics based on that pic, I would love to see them!

Hmm... so now I have to work out where I saw the other fics. One of them was probably by moe81, but for the others I can't remember. Gah, I'll have to go hunting. I'll let you know if I find them again. ;)

Fabulous. It makes sense that Sanji would have to resort to such underhanded (but sexy!) tricks to make Zoro spit out something like that. :D Also, I love that not only does Zoro makes several "false" three-word-statements before the right one, but it ends with three words from Sanji in return.

Thanks, serrende! I was actually planning to have them only speak in phrases of three throughout the fic but that proved way too hard (and would've been kinda unnatural). ^^
