Rating: G
Media: Fic
Characters: Robin and Nami
Word Count: 294
Prompt: Three words (not 'I love you')
Note: Takes place after Arabasta, but before Water 7
Staying with the Strawhats was only a temporary situation, Robin knew, and she would have to leave before long. She didn't know where she would go. She was weary down to her very bones, but something in sitting on the deck and watching made her soul grow lighter, watching people enjoying life simply for the sake of it.
Certainly, she had never had the experience herself. When she watched them, it was easier to forget her own grievances, but here in a quiet room, alone, she was reminded of the fact that she had to leave. As she leafed through her book, Nami walked in with a towel wrapped snugly around her, smelling faintly of soap. She slipped an oversized shirt over her head and had a seat next to Robin on the bed.
"Is something the matter, Robin?"
It was unlike Robin to show emotion, but Nami was easily the most perceptive person on Merry. She was going to go far. All of them were. "No," Robin replied swiftly. "I'm merely looking for a piece of information I can't seem to find."
"What?"
"Information on Vira."
Nami grabbed a book, and Robin added on, "I'm perfectly capable of finding the information myself."
"I'm not exactly terrible at finding information myself," Nami said.
"It's not necessary."
Nami wrapped an arm around Robin. "We girls have to stick together on this ship!"
Robin laughed lightly and opened her mouth, but Nami interrupted her. "Let me help."
Nami rested her head on Robin's shoulder as she read, and Robin found herself looking down at her knees more than the book in her lap. Perhaps she would stay for just a little bit longer.
