Title: The morning after

Prompt: The morning after
Warnings: Zoro/Nami implied... sort of. After re-reading the end of this, I thought I might write a sequel later on... perhaps for another prompt! :)

Summary: Zoro wakes up with the terrible feeling that something was wrong... where was he?



Zoro's eyes analyzed the room. No doubt about it, this wasn't the men cabin, it was too... decorated, and organized. And there were actual beds, unlike where he and the other men slept. Logically, this had to be the women cabin. But why the hell was he in one of the beds?

More importantly, what had happened to his clothes?

An unnecessary loud scream made him snap back to reality. He recognized that scream, he hadn't even turned yet and he already knew that was the witch lying next to him. Naked, as he noticed right away. Not because he wanted to see her naked, but because there had to be an explanation for that too. What the hell would he and her be doing on a bed, both of them na-

Oh.

He certainly did not scream louder in response. He just reacted surprised and yelled, that was all. And he absolutely didn't blush for an unknown reason. Not for one second.

As she took a sheet to cover herself, her mind tried to go back to last night; she didn't recall much either. All she could remember was having a drinking competition with Zoro that ended up around 3 am, when Nami suggested they went for the strong rum she secretly kept on her bedroom.

"Wh... Why... did we..." stuttered Zoro, his head about to burst from the loud noises they had just produced. Stupid hangover, didn't even allow him to say a proper sentence.

"I... I think so..." she whispered, using one hand to cover her mouth as soon as the words came out. But it was too late to take all the sound back, the entire ship had heard them.

"Nami-swannn! Whatever is making you scream like that, I will-" 

"Hey Sanji, don't just leave me when I'm talking to... what the hell?!"

"Sanji, I want my breakfast, why did you leave? Oh, and why are Zoro and Nami naked? Is it a game?"

"Oh my, it seems like swordsman-san and navigator-san have some explanation to make..."

*snorts* Oh yes, some explanation to make indeed~
My favourite bit of this was 'He certainly did not scream louder in response'. Just the thought of a half-awake Zoro giving a confused, gurgled grunt is amusing enough for me. A sequel would be awesome. Guess we'll just have to wait and see what other prompts lie in the near future nyeh?
One question though, where was Robin? Night watch, or did she have an adventure of her own? ;D

It would be hard for them to explain something they still can't understand XD But it'll be interesting to see them try...

Oh, the imagery... I like it when people find a favorite bit. It means they actually read this, and it makes me happy :) And yeah, a sequel is in mind... I'll figure something out, whether it is by a prompt or not. XD

And as regards Robin, I couldn't explain where she was due to the word limit, but she was on watch last night, and saw the pair going to the room in search of Nami's rum (if you know what I mean...). So she decided to avoid the room for the night and spent it reading. But more details will be saved for the sequel ;)

I like Zoro's narrative voice; it's appropriately befuddled yet manly (He just reacted surprised and yelled, that was all) and characteristic of him.

I also love Luffy's very very Luffy comment ^^.

I personally love narrating from Zoro's perspective... not in first person, as if he was narrating, but narrate from what he sees in third person.It's one of my weird preferences when it comes to writing. Perhaps because I love him so much. ^.^ And he can always react befuddled and yet remain manly as always... for evidence, I point at his reaction to Nami's debt in Whiskey Peak XD

And Luffy was about to say "Can I play too?" but... I feared the word counter xD
