Eat & run!
Mar. 3rd, 2012 07:45 pmI feel like my inspiration for OP drabbles has failed me this last couple of weeks. But I think I just need a few more hours of sleep and I'll be better than ever! :D And while I'm not 100% happy with the ending, I think it came out altogether well... you judge :P
Enjoy!
Title: Eat & run!
Nami was eighteen by that time. She was already a grown woman, a rational person with all of her capabilities at her disposal. And she still found it hard to believe she was older than her; his proposal sounded like the one of a two year old.
Running away without paying the bill? How rude. How low. How could she do something like that? It was almost like stealing. And she wasn't a thief; of that much, she was sure. And with that clear on her mind, she refused Ace's proposal.
To her surprise, he stood up. Hopefully, he was going to pay for everything they had eaten (which was to say him, the amount of food he ate never failed to remind her how similar him and his brother were), but instead he went for the bathroom. And so, she waited for him to return so they could finally leave.
When he didn't return, she grew worried and went to look for him. Ace pulled her inside and explained her his plan to escape threw the window. Nami wasn't about ready to drop her dignity (or what was left of it), but when she was informed Ace had no money -meaning she would have to pay for the dinner they had shared- she jumped out the window with surprising agility.
And that was the first time she left without paying, what he called "eat and run". She repeated the process on other occasions... but it was only when she didn't have money with her, of course!
Enjoy!

Date: 2012-03-10 04:53 am (UTC)When I got to this line, I said "HA!" to myself very loudly.
And then this: she jumped out the window with surprising agility.
This brought a huge grin to myself. I wouldn't want to be footing Ace's dinner bill either! Who has that kind of money?!
Definitely a very amusing AU to entertain :D

Date: 2012-03-12 03:19 pm (UTC)I don't think anyone could pay for that bill, not even Ace, that's why he's used to escaping without paying, right? XD And sure Nami doesn't want to spend hers on something like that...
Oh thank you! I'm really happy you liked it, and thanks for commenting; it makes me happy too! Thanks! :D
