The adventure was over.
After years of sailing together the crew had achieved their dreams and turned the world government on its head.
There wasn’t a goal to sail toward anymore.
Luffy wore the mantle of the pirate king on his shoulders: Shanks took his hat back.
Zoro carried the title of best swordsman proudly: few challengers came to meet him.
Nami proudly displayed her completed world map above the kitchen table: there were no new islands to add to it.
Usopp now wore his father’s bandana after beating the man in a sharpshooting and storytelling contest: the children still wouldn’t believe his true stories.
Sanji cooked meals a plenty from the fish in All Blue: he was the only cook for that sea.
Chopper spent his time treating illnesses at most harbors: few diseases were difficult to defeat for him.
Robin wrote a book on the true history: her next research project was not nearly so interesting.
Franky maintained the pirate king’s ship in his proud manner: none of his newer battle inventions got much use.
Brooke met up with Laboon at Reverse Mountain: he later had to attend the giant whale’s funeral.
The crew was not sad, indeed, they were as lively as ever, and they were overjoyed to have achieved their dreams at long last. However, on especially slow nights when the moon hung over the ocean they would wake up, one-by-one, yearning for the years of adventure they had left behind: the times when the world still challenged them.

Thanks,
Mac
