He comes to a stop before the seated man, clears his throat, and waits until green eyes lift and the bottle of sake is lowered to the deck before he strikes a familiar pose, head slightly lowered, one hand over his heart and the other outstretched as if in offering, and begins to recite.
"Shall I compare thee to a--"
"The fuck?"
"It's a love poem, you uncultured boor. You don't like it?"
There's a gruff "hmph" and exaggerated eye-roll in reply.
"No? Then how about: 'My love is like a red, red rose, that--'"
Another indelicate snort cuts him off. "Why don't you go for the old classic, if you're going to spout love poetry, oh Prince?"
"And what, pray tell, would you suggest, Marimo?"
"Roses are red, violets are blue--"
The shock on Sanji's face at the first few words dissolves into laughter as he recognizes the poem. "Ha, hahaha, haa," he finally concludes. "Oh, Marimo. You are many things, thorny and intemperate among them, but sweet?" He turns, and walks away then, laughing his way down the stairs.
Zoro blinks, looks at his drink again, shakes his head, and carefully sets the bottle aside.
