A/N: With no One Piece this week, my imagination wandered off and unearthed an older Mystery I puzzled over then buried in favor of cheering for Luffy breaking into Impel Down…What was Kuma doing in Shabondy?... I’m so asking to be jossed with this…
---
The Strawhat Crew has gotten themselves into a world in a world of trouble again.
After Moria, he’d hoped that they’d keep their heads down, at least until they’d passed Marine Headquarters, but he supposes it would have been a stretch for Dragon’s boy to ignore Shabondy’s darker dealings and outright impossible with the Tenryuubito thrown in.
Like father, like son. Both incapable of accepting ‘what is’ and more than willing to challenge it.
Even as he pushes himself towards the Archipelago, he knows he has preciously few options.
With the Shichibukai convened at Headquarters, no orders and marines swarming the place, he has no real excuse for even being there. And though they’d normally let his deviations slide, he doesn’t doubt his superiors would tighten his leash if such a notorious crew escaped twice in his presence.
He can't afford to lose their favor.
So just what could he do?
Cursing inwardly, he lands in the grove; there are too many witnesses that wouldn’t conveniently disappear for him to launch a not-enough-to-kill-the-Strawhats attack.
Push the lot of them off Shabondy? No. Not enough.
With the Marines planning to execute his brother, Strawhat would doubtlessly throw himself headfirst into battle and what else would his crew do but follow? He’d witnessed their loyalty for himself.
They’d escape this mess only to leap into a bigger one.
There was no other solution then. Even the Dark King was in a bind.
So he scatters them, each to a different island but with nothing that could kill one of their caliber. Surely Strawhat Luffy would seek out his nakama before anything else after seeing them disappear before his eyes.
Hopefully by the time they regrouped, the war would already be over.

And yet the “why” of the situation still escapes me…
Imagination: cause he’s a revolutionary spy and Dragon’s friend?
Common Sense: Mr. Loyal-to-the-World-Government?
Imagination: Why not? It’s One Piece
Common Sense: …
Need a Kuma tag?

Date: 2009-09-13 03:36 pm (UTC)Yes!! It's like he was helping the Strawhats-- must be in relation with Dragon. And Odacchi really should clear that up some time soon~~<3
I had fun reading it~~<3

We will find out. It might take five years, though. ^^;

Date: 2009-09-14 12:14 pm (UTC)He really is a hard one to figure out...letting a crew go once could be passed off as a whim but going to their rescue (Kizaru and Sentomaru were surprised to see him too)? There's gotta be something behind that. My bet is that it's Dragon-related (sorta like Iva-chan helping Luffy break out of Impel)
yes we will! :) Hopefully I don't go nuts by then XD

Date: 2009-09-14 12:24 pm (UTC)The only clue we have is that Kuma knows Dragon, so it should have something to do with that. But what kind of relationship does Kuma have to Dragon? Bartholomew Kuma, "the tyrant", the one Shichibukai who runs the government's errands??
Oda makes us all go nuts!! Remember how long we had to wait to find out what the deal was with Robin?

Date: 2009-09-14 02:32 pm (UTC)I have no clue what he was thinking when he pushed Sanji thoughXD those questions are running through my mind as well. Wouldn't it be so Oda for the one Shichibukai who runs the government's errands to be a revolutionary spy though? my imagination won't let go of that idea
oh God yes...so much head/heartache over "traitor?...blackmail?... own agenda?...secret past?...And how about waiting to find out what happened after Ace's fight with Blackbeard?
