Little brother.

Is this a dream

His arms were closed around something, but was it him?

How could he know for sure, if the last few days have seemed like something out of a dream.

No, a nightmare.

Touching his black hair, ruffling it, pulling him even closer in the already tight embrace.

You could have lost him.

He could have lost you.’

How could he still smile, even know, and what was worse why couldn’t you return it. It was the least he deserved.

Hearing him faintly ask if he can have a bit more space to breath, you reluctantly give it to him.

Vaguely you heard people talking around you, but it all seemed far away, all you could look at was him.

“Oh look, pineapple-san has your hat! “

now that got your attention, turning around to see an frustrated looking Marco holding indeed your head, you couldn’t help but smile and chuckle as he planted it firmly on your head.

“listen kid, it’s marco.. MARCO”

You laughed quietly at your friends attempts to make your little brother speak to him with the name he was given. He knew he wouldn’t succeed.

You realized both Marco and Luffy were now looking at you as you looked amusedly back at them. For a moment it seemed that time stood still… only for a little moment though.

“Ne, ne pineapple-san.. look you made him smile!!”

How exactly don’t know but that was the signal for the peace on the ship to be ruined, Luffy was being chased by marco, while at the same time shouting he wanted food.

Yeah, you loved that little nuisance.
