A/N: So yeah this takes place several months after the whole marine vs. whitebeard clash. Once again it’s all speculation. It’s not the best I’ve written and I like it. Also this will not take part to the challenge of this week, I just wanted to use this weeks prompt as well, I hope that’s okay.

There had been casualties, there had been losses.

He looked down upon his sons, spread around over the deck.

It had been 3 months since the war against the marines.

But they had gotten him back, and despite the hurt, the loss and the agony.

He could see that his sons had grown, matured.

He still had to decide if that were good or bad.

His hand tracked the newest scar on his body, a gift from one of his sons.

The betrayal had hurt more than the actual wound itself.

And though he was relieved to have made it out of that war alive, he would have gladly given his live for any of his sons.

 “Whitebeard-sama…”

looking down towards the voice of one of his nurses he nodded, motioning for her to continue.

“He still hasn’t awoken, it’s .. “ She stopped talking, thinking of how to phrase the words on her mind.

“Well speak, I’m not a mind reader “

“I don’t think he’ll ever wake, we should focus more on the people who..  he’s not..“ she stopped talking at all as he stood up, making the other nurses fret and beg for him to sit down again.

“You will not give up on treating the boy, that kid is as good as one of ours.. “

He towered above her and she simply nodded, not daring to speak back.

Who would have thought, that he’d develop such feelings to a pipsqueak like that.

“What’s this old man, you seem to like him more then you let on.. “

Whitebeard turned to look at his first commander, noting in his shadow was also his second. It was small but he could see a small of gratitude grace that face. He smiled.

“Mind your own business boy.. “

Oh, no, Luffy! D: That is Luffy, right? He'd better wake up!!

Yeah. that is luffy. I think he'll wake up.
It's gonna take the universe to take luffy down.

Aww, Luffy! ;__; Of course he's going to make it! He'll just... crash very badly after that adrenaline dose. But he'll be okay! It's good that your Shirohige doesn't give up on him. ♥

(Also, Ace. Would be fretting so much. :)

Yeah I know right ;__; I actually feel horrible for writing this and all. But he'll be okay it's luffy. And we all know Shirohige likes the pipesqueak.
